Building Repair Update
Chabad of the North Shore has recently embarked on a mini building campaign to improve our facility on 44 Burrill Street. As many of you know, we have purchased the property to right of the Shul. The house will be the new residence for Rabbi Lipsker and his family and Chabad will be expanded to include the parking area and large grassy area to the right of the Shul. In addition to removing fences to incorporate this exciting new space, we will also complete the following renovations to the existing property, before Rosh Hashanah.
- Painting the entire front of the building
- Sanding and polishing the Shul hardwood flooring
- Setting up a new preschool classroom
- Repairing the structure of the steeple
- Landscaping in front and sides of the property
- Setting up a tent on our expanded property for use during the High Holidays
- New shelving units in our kitchen
In order to lower our expenses for these projects, we have hired Shmaryahu Kohen, Rabbi Moshe’s brother, a general contractor from Israel, who will be working for us until the High Holidays. The projected cost of the entire project is $18,000 ,approximately half of what we had gotten for estimates from local contractors. We have raised $6000 thus far. Chabad of the North Shore is a community institution, and this facility a communal treasure.. We will be here for all your holiday and lifecycle events. Please help us continue to make our building a safe and beautiful place to be.
